My Second Pair of Sonys

I bought my first pair of Sony MDR-V6 headphones in the fall of my sophomore year of college. I had a show on the school's radio station, but the main reason for purchasing the headphones was to allow me to study in some of the noisier places on campus. Including the library during finals week.

These headphones traveled with my across the Atlantic, blocking the screams of tired babies on long international flights, as well as unwelcome pick up lines from lonely businessmen. They stayed with me that year in London, and with me as I returned home to New England. When I started working full-time,  they allowed me to escape into my own world while spending hours of my day doing research on various projects.

Now, the moment has come. The cord has ripped in several places, the labels have fallen off, and the plastic coating the padding is ripped. Old headphones, I will miss you.

New headphones, I'm wondering what the next seven years has in store for me, and what kind of stories I'll have to tell about you!

Momma once told me
You’re already home where you feel love
I am lost in my mind
I get lost in my mind

Oh my brother
Your wisdom is all that I need
Oh my brother
Don’t you worry ‘bout me
Don’t you worry
Don’t you worry
Don’t worry about me

How’s that brick layin’ coming
How’s your engine running
Is that bridge getting built
Are your hands getting filled

Won’t you tell me my brother
Cause there are stars up above
We can start moving forward
