The Perfect Boots

I've found the perfect pair of boots:

My hunt for a pair of great boots started when I first saw the fisherman's boots in Prada's Fall 2009 show, which I loved. I soon started to search for a more classic style of boot that still had presence and a bit of drama. Boots tend to stay in my wardrobe for at least five years, so I try to avoid overly trendy purchases. When I found this pair on Zappos, I fell in love immediately! I believe Iris Apfel would have worn them on the red carpet and at home.

They are made from a classic material (well, snakeskin patterns are trendy at the moment, but when used subtlety, they are always an acceptable variation on a style):

A slim shape (an inside zipper plays a critical part in this):

And a classic round toe:

When I purchased my first pair of tall boots in high school, I bought a pair with square toes, a purchase I regretted only four years later. While the popularity of round toes cycle, they never truly disappear, they just seem dowdy after a while. But add some snakeskin, and and the shoes become a classic, because snakeskin is always chic. And that, my friends, is why this pair of boots is the perfect pair.
