I found these photos on people.com several weeks ago, and they reminded my of the Arms and Armor department at the MET. Marion Cotillard looks slightly medieval with her caped and draped gown, which acts as a perfect foil to the metallic and leather sheen of her clutch. Lively's boots, long shirt, and studded legging look battle ready, while Kruger is wearing similar leggings with a tunic featuring a decorative breastplate. Compare and contrast:

Gorgeous detailing on all of this metalwork. I'd like to make that shield into a pendant, please. And how about a dress with similar seam lines to the above breastplate? Also love the colors in the armor on the left. I'd love to see more designs inspired from these looks, with more of a softer edge, in wools and satins. Less leather, similar shapes. And maybe some chain maille. Could be the next step, after the popularity of chain necklaces this fall and winter.
