Almost Perfect...

Received an email about J. Crew's new arrivals today, as did you, I'm sure.

< and so I did.

Did you spot the colorful pumps? I love almost everything about these shoes:

The choice of leather (brightly-colored patent leather doesn't work!) and the simple styling is perfect for fall. But I'm not sure I'm going to purchase a pair, and here's why:

I prefer a semi-pointed toe on my pumps. It's the most flattering style, it's a classic, and it adds a sophisticated finish to a casual or more formal outfit. My opinion, for what it's worth. (I have a pair of black, round toe pumps, and I never wear them. They look...heavy, less alluring...when compared to my heels with a semi-pointed toes.) 

I like the colors, but I wish they were more saturated. I like pale tones, but I would prefer to purchase a pair in one of J. Crew's standout colors like fuchsia, heather marine, getaway green, spicy gold, jazzy purple...I could continue! To me, J. Crew's color palette is what truly distinguishes them from other RTW brands. And it would be fun to shoes available in a bold variety of colors. 

So, props to Jenna: I'm already salivating over the new skirts and sweaters in autumn's best hues. (My eventual goal is to have a cashmere cardigan in every color, like Oprah. It's true, Google it!)
