Summer Update

Hi there. It's been a while....

After the Christmas craziness was over, I dove into the world of graduate school applications. And nearly drowned. I spent nights organizing all the forms I needed to submit and proofreading all my essays. (Well, honestly, one essay I tweaked to fit the requirements of each application.) During the day, I was taking over new responsibilities after being promoted at work. Who knew I was so great at partner acquisition? Now I do. Also, the curriculum I developed at work after talking to one of our customers was quickly accepted into the marketing plan for the coming year. Which is another exciting story all together....

Most importantly, through all this, I bought this pair of shoes from Talbots. Just kidding, but the shoes ARE made of the softest leather and are the perfect modern addition to some of my vintage frocks.

So, you ask, how many acceptance letters was I sent? Three! All three schools -- London College of Fashion (my alma mater), NYU Steinhardt, and FIT offered me places in their Fashion and Textile History programs. If anyone is interested, I'm happy to write a post expounding on why I chose to attend FIT, why I later deferred, and how I'm looking forward to attending next autumn. It was a difficult decision, but I believe it was the best one!

Maintenant, with things finally neat and in order, I am hoping for many months of happy blogging. Things to come this summer: Blogs on sailing. Blogs on sailing lessons. Blogs on advanced sailings lessons. Did I mention I was taking sailing lessons and absolutely loving them? And how much fun is it that navy is popular this season? It's so good to see one of my favorite colors widely available again. I've been buying a sailboat-load. A soling-load. A sloop-load.

Stay tuned.
