I've started watching The Big Bang Theory, and am pleasantly surprised and slightly dismayed at how similar I am to some of the characters, including Sheldon. I especially identify with their appreciation of Star Trek, Star Wars, and the other science fiction movies I watched (and watched, and watched, and still watch) with my father.
Any great science fiction work shares many traits with a classic western. Essentially, science fiction characters are space cowboys who ride (in space ships) into to the Wild West of the Milky Way. The heroes are unafraid to face danger and the unknown, and both genres appeal to those who admire the characters' independent thinking, bravery, and dedication to uplifting the oppressed and the downtrodden.
So, good news, science fiction fans: Star Wars seems to be trending!
Just in time for Christmas.
Check out this set of pancake molds from Williams-Sonoma:
And these sets of cookie cutters:
And these sheets from Pottery Barn Kids:
Now, I ask you, who wouldn't want these sheets? I'm seriously considering them. I'll find a way to make them match my 1930's mahogany bedroom set. And my vintage drapes. Oh, I'll find a way...
...or maybe I'll just purchase the pancake molds.
