Kick it to the Curbed

One of my responsibilities at work is to check news available on the highly irreverent Curbed, a self-described interior design, decor and real estate blog. Reading the blog is my favorite way to start the work day; the witty and informative posts provide an extra jolt of energy while I sip my chai tea. The National site features major stories and is worth a visit, but I prefer the regional sites -- LA, NY, Boston, Detroit, etc. -- which highlight local architectural treasures and human interest stories.

Here's a list of articles I've culled from Curbed in the past month:

1.   The end of the relationship between architecture and analogue photography.

2. Twelve famous chairs
3. Twenty-six national parks that no longer exist.
4. Iconic houses comic (buy your poster here)

5. Ansel Adams' photos of LA from 1940
7. Reopening America's oldest aquarium: the Bell Isle Aquarium in Detroit
8. Homes of famous fashion designers.

10. A FLW storefront

12.  A FLW doghouse
13. North Korean architecture
14. China's city of ice
15. New Year's Eve in LA: Smoking Deaths

16. Heat-reactive sculpture
17. The Rebecca Minkoff Story

...and more. Part Two is on its way!
