Céline: Plaid and Perfect

There is much to say about Phoebe Philo's Fall 2013 collection for Céline!

Have you heard of the Céline/Beene controversy?

What first caused me to thoughtfully cross my arms was not the outfit above, but the obvious reference to the ubiquitous plaid shopping bags:

Here's what Juergen Teller, the photographer of the Céline campaigns, said about the latest collection: "Really elegant but weird; almost nerdy but perverse."

I'd rather not add an opinion to the multitude.
Instead, I'd like to mention some of the more glamorous looks that shared the same runway, but have not received the equivalent amount of promotion online. From the tubular sleeves to voluminous skirts, many of the Philo's designs have a classic and utilitarian feel and appear to be wonderfully versatile and completely comfortable. Perfect for a fall or winter day, midweek or weekend:

The "I-don't-know-what-to-wear" turtleneck

 and the goes-with-everything fall coat.
The weekend/workday sweater...

and the tongue-in-chic dress.

Finally, my favorite: A perfect blouse.
